Viva la Mexico

transition

To say that Mexico was amazing, just really does not give an accurate description of the two weeks spent there. It was far more than amazing. I feel so grateful to have had the chance to go there with people who are fantastic.
Between jet skiing, kayaking, body surfing, laying in the sun, reading and relaxing, going deep sea fishing (and catching a 6' swordfish - at least 90 lbs. - then going to a beach where they cook the fish right there for you and you have a delicious feast with the most fresh fresh fish can get), walking the streets and watching soccer, falling in love again with the people and land (especially the Mexican children who stole my heart)...this was a trip I will never forget and will be eternally thankful for. A phenomenal way to begin my journey.
Now, I am feeling rather overwhelmed getting all of my last minute stuff together....there is quite a bit. But I know I will get it done. Holy shit - I leave in two days!!!!!!!!!!

sun rise

I woke up today, early, and watched the sun rise.  I can't remember the last time I did that.  It was so gorgeous and peaceful, the tropical birds singing to one another.  This truly is paradise; as long as I don't get eaten by a shark.  I have been in the ocean though.  How can you not go in the ocean when you are in Mexico?  It's too damn hot to not get in.  Even though the ocean water is the temperature I prefer my baths, it is still oh so necessary.

Mexico - 6.17.08

I am in Mexico relishing the hot hot glorious sun.  Got a little burnt, but hey - its better than no sun at all. (Sorry Seattle!)  This is really marking the beginning of my adventure abroad.  Having that last day of serving tables was really the kicker of realization.  Still, I wonder, how can I really be going to Nepal in 2 weeks...but I am and it is going to kick ass.  It is just absolutely lovely to be having such a peaceful 'vacation' - living these two weeks in a beautiful hotel on the beach, embracing the culture and life of Mexico, and the swim up bar.  Oh, the swim up bar.  I feel so lucky to be with my boyfriend and his amazing family.  It is a great jumping off point, to say the least.

Still In Seattle

I am still in Seattle getting all of my stuff together. Right now it is all about the final details, which mostly tend to be annoying and tedious. BLAH!
I am leaving so soon! 10 days, not that I am counting. Right now the best way for me to describe my state of being is "a stew of emotions". I am overwhelmed with nervousness, excitment, curiosity, love, happieness, the best type of sadness that could be - in missisng those in this country - but I'm also so thrilled to get out of this country.
