I arrived two days ago. Internet connection is sparce here, and right now the electricity is not working, so I will make this post short.
It is definitely a culture shock! With the smells, constant sounds, dogs eating trash piled on the streets, crazy driving (literally no street laws - except use your horn to make people get the fuck out of your way), squating toilets, soo many people, not speaking but a tiny bit of the language, not knowing my way around yet, the food and the time traveling. Don't get me wrong, I am so happy to be here, but I also cannot wait to know my way arond, have a routine of going to school, and learn more Nepali.

- I am on an adventure which will shape my life forever. Starting the trip in Mexico with my boyfriend and his amazing family, I traveled to Zihuatanejo on the 16th of June through the 28th. On the 2nd of July I begin my travels in South East Asia. Nepal is the first destination, for 5 months. 4 of it I will be developing a drama program at the Pragya English School; teaching creative drama and acting. TJ, the love of my life, is meeting me in Kathmandu and we will be treking the Annapurna region for a little over a month. From there we are going to India for one month, traveling with just a backpack. Thailand and Vietnam are to follow...

Hang in there...adjusting to a new culture will take a while. Soon you'll have a routine and get to know some locals and fall in love with the kids at school.

maybe you should try driving a car with a squat toilet, a dog, and a pile of trash inside, while honking your horn, breathing in deeply through your nose, eating roadside food, and speaking nepali out the window, while reading a street map. The only way to adjust is to dive in head first and combine all the new things into one extreme event
